This month, it’s the accounting module that has had a makeover! Anne Vaillant, Ekylibriste and AgroTIC project manager, answered a few questions about these changes.
Why redesign the accounting module?
Anne Vaillant: We had an audit carried out by a chartered accountant, who steered us towards the new approach we now offer. We wanted to take advantage of the new regulations in this area to provide a compliant tool that improves the user experience.
What has changed with this new version?
A.V.: The update was designed to make accounting easier and to give farmers a simple, clear solution. All accounting features have been brought together in a single module, which farmers can use as much or as little as they wish. If they want to manage all their accounting in Ekylibre, they can. Conversely, if they want to delegate it entirely, that’s no problem either. New features also make the tool more intuitive to use.
What are these new features?
A.V.: For example, regulatory documents such as trial balances and income statements can now be exported as PDF. We have also added a year-end closing assistant, including a “Closing in preparation” mode, which lists the items that are not yet compliant, with direct links to the issues to be fixed. Farmers can now calculate and allocate their profit directly. Another new feature: VAT returns are now linked to financial years. In terms of usability, the accounting review process has been made easier. Users can now trace their entire accounting history, transaction by transaction, from the order to the stock issue.
What if you’re not sure how to use such a module?
A.V.: For technical support and help with how the module works, users can send a request to our support team via the chat available in the Ekylibre interface. As for accounting itself, we are not authorised to provide advice. Specialist accounting firms can help farmers get to grips with this complex subject.
Is accounting the only thing that changes with this update?
A.V.: We have made a number of improvements across various Ekylibre features. All these new features are detailed in the release notes accompanying the update.
