Lyvre · Keep the books

Free, frugal, self-hosted accounting

Lyvre keeps the books of an association or a property company, from data entry to the balance sheet: bank and cash, purchases and sales, memberships and tax receipts, leases, budgets, year-end closing and the FEC file for the accountant. Its farm accounting is in progress: it will make Lyvre the accounting building block of Ekylibre, Aiffel and Lexicon.

Who does what

Ekylibre SAS publishes and develops Lyvre, and releases its code under a free licence. The Seconde Nature association and the SCI des Chênes Verts property company are the first organisations to keep their books with Lyvre, every day.

What Lyvre does

From data entry to the balance sheet, with no re-keying: bank lines, invoices and memberships feed the entries directly.

  • Accounting

Keyboard-driven double entry or simplified bookkeeping; charts of accounts for associations, property companies or businesses; matching, fixed assets, VAT returns.

  • Bank and cash

Qonto sync or OFX import, reconciliation with suggestions, categorisation rules, cash-flow forecast.

  • Purchases

Supplier invoices read automatically (Factur-X, PDF or photo), suppliers found in the Sirene register, subscriptions tracked.

  • Sales and leases

Factur-X quotes, invoices and credit notes; leases with an IGN map, e-signature, rent receipts and rent reviews.

  • Members and donations

HelloAsso and cash memberships, reminders, volunteer time valued; numbered tax receipts.

  • Closing and FEC

An 8-step year-end closing assistant, locked validated entries, a compliant FEC accounting file.

  • Budgets and projects

Budget vs actual, project accounting, income statement for a funder, annual general meeting report.

  • Accountants

Read-only access, batch validation, period locking, a year-end archive.

Interoperability

The accounting building block of the ecosystem

Ekylibre runs the farm, Aiffel captures what the farmer says, Lexicon provides the reference data. Lyvre turns it all into accounts, with no re-keying.

Farm accounting

We are adding to Lyvre what farm accounting requires, building on what Ekylibre and Lexicon already do.

  • The French farm chart of accounts (PCGA 2023) and the agricultural profits tax regime.
  • Farm stock and crop advances, animals, cooperative and machinery-sharing (CUMA) shares.
  • Land rents and the national land rent index, rural leases.
  • A calendar of deadlines: VAT, farmers’ social security (MSA), taxes, CAP payments.
  • Import of accounts kept in Ekylibre (entries, third parties, matching, documents).

Who it is for

  • Associations that want sound accounting without proprietary software: memberships, donations, restricted funds, AGM report.
  • Property companies (SCI) managing partners, leases, rents and receipts, including for farmland.
  • Farms as soon as the farm accounting release is out, working with Ekylibre and Aiffel.
  • Accountants who get read-only access and a FEC file ready to import.
